Canarias Radio interviews SEMACA and Xavier García, lawyer for Lener Administraciones Concursales and a specific bankruptcy administrator, about their solidarity in creating face masks, despite their situation in bankruptcy proceedings.
The Company from Tenerife, SEMACA CONTRACT, SL, a specialist in the manufacture of furniture and decorations in wood and textiles, despite its complicated economic situation and as an example of solidarity, is collaborating in this health crisis, with the manufacture of 1,500 weekly face masks for healthcare professionals of the island. Fundamental in this decision has been the APPROVAL and support given by Lener Administraciones Concursales, equally sensitive to the situation we all are facing.
The administrators, together with the owners, have made the decision that allows the company to contribute to overcome the health crisis and maintains employment for seven workers who will not be affected by the ERTE to which the company has had to resort because of COVID-19.
The company has contacted the mayor and the Ministry of Social Affairs of La Orotova to manage the distribution of the more than 1,500 face masks that are manufactured each week in their facilities.
Lastly, the company and the bankruptcy administrator operate and hope to leave the bankruptcy with an agreement, at such point their future will be in the hands of their creditors, and this time SEMACA CONTRACT will gain sufficient confidence for their approval.
