The publishing house Marcial Pons, has published the book "Free Zones and International Trade", in which our colleague specialized in Fishing Law, Dr. Beatriz Huarte, has participated with the chapter entitled "Free zones as a dynamic element of fishing: Competitive advantages of the free zone regime for port operators ".
The book, coordinated by Professors & Drs. Ana Mª Pita Grandal and Carmen Ruiz Hidalgo, and in which they have had several authors (such as Dr. Huarte), want to give visibility to those Free Zones that are in continuous evolution and face new challenges in the difficult environment of the current trade policies. The attraction of international investment with activities relevant to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), or the adoption of more respectful environmental standards, or the promotion of sustainable growth, are some of the objectives of Sustainable Development Goals for the 2030 agenda, without losing sight of the classic conception of the free zone as a customs enclave, as well as its impact on the economy and on public accounts.
