Yesterday, 3 December, we celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
At Lener, we wanted to do so in a special way, bringing forward our Lener Brunch to take a different kind of break, with a purpose, to remind us that inclusion is not a concept, but a reality of social awareness and responsibility.
We had the privilege of welcoming José Ignacio Martín Blasco, former Director General of Special, Infant and Primary Education for the Community of Madrid and current Director of Colegio Cambrils, a leader in special education, who gave us more than just a talk; he shared his personal mission to open our eyes, leaving us with ideas that still resonate:
• That inclusion is about participating
• That it is about enthusiasm and personalisation, not uniformity
• That it requires looking beyond our daily lives and our map to infect our environment with a different way of seeing, listening and accompanying
His message reminded us that organisations have a responsibility to create spaces where each person can contribute from their uniqueness. And that is also our commitment, which we realise through this conference is worth upholding.
And thank you to the entire Lener team for continuing to build a culture where inclusion is celebrated not just one day, but every day.
