Our colleague Paloma Zamora, associate of the Labor Department, analyzes in the program 'Tenemos que hablar' (Cadena Ser) the regulation of relationships between workers in the same company.
According to Paloma, a company cannot, a priori, prohibit sentimental relationships, although there is no rule that protects this prohibition, and if it were to occur, it could violate fundamental rights of workers such as privacy.
However, it could be cause for dismissal if workers take advantage of their sentimental relationship to obtain information from another department, or if they use the position of one to favor the other, among other circumstances.
