Public Co-investment Fund (FOCO): what effects will it have on foreign investment in Spain?

Our colleagues Gerardo Baena and Jorge Cantón, lawyers of the Commercial Department of Lener, analyze the objective behind the creation of the Coinvestment Fund (FOCO) to promote investment in private companies in Spain.
Through FOCO, the Government seeks to facilitate investors' access to financing in strategic sectors, as well as to promote innovative co-investment projects aligned with the objectives of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo (Cofides) will manage this fund, which will have an initial provision of up to 2 billion euros from the NextGeneration EU program.
